NCUIH Presents: Indigenous Wellness and Suicide Prevention in the Americas: Lessons Learned and Points of Intersection Webinar

Training, Webinar

It’s National Indigenous People’s Day!

While indigenous communities in the Region of the Americas are characterized by diverse ethnic, linguistic and cultural identities, they face similar health challenges, among them compromised mental well-being and elevated rates of suicide. These communities possess unparalleled knowledge and experience in confronting these issues in their own local settings, which, when shared, could benefit indigenous groups across the region. In a webinar sponsored by NCUIH, The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) will present mental wellness and suicide prevention in the Region, and from their work with indigenous communities in the Americas, with the aim of identifying strategies that could be valuable and applicable to Native American communities.
