USET is hosting a “Outbreak Preparedness Workshop” covering Vector-borne infections transmitted by the bite of infected arthropod (blood sucking) species, such as mosquitoes, ticks, kissing bugs, sandflies, and blackflies.
This workshop will be held in Nashville, TN, July 11-12, 2017.
The workshop will discuss the roles and responsibilities of different departments within your Tribal Nation in response to a Vector-borne disease outbreak.
Learning objectives include:
- How to identify and respond during an outbreak
- When and how to use social media and release information to the public
- Non-Pharmaceutical interventions during an outbreak
- Outbreak best practices during a suspected vector-borne outbreak
Who should attend:
Health Directors, Community Health workers, environmental professionals, teachers/child care workers, emergency response professionals, Tribal Leaders
